Biography

Garrett is an increasing force to be reckoned with on the UK Circuit. In the few years since breaking out in new act competions he has established a reputation as one of the finest live acts of his generation. A diverse and unique performer, he is in high demand across a broad range of shows.

From regularly hosting End of The Road Festival alongside some of the biggest names in comedy, to performing for United Nations peace keeping troops his district comedic voice is establishing a growing audience. Already a fixture at the most respected comedy clubs in the country, earlier this year he became one of the new generation of comics to be making weekend appearances at the world famous Comedy Store in London’s Leicester Square. As well as being in demand on both the altenative and club circuits, his festival shows have played to sold out audiences from Adelaide to Machynlleth and then on to The Edinburgh Festival.

He has garnered much critical acclaim for his long form shows, and drawing favourable comparisons to some of the masters of the form, Stewart Lee, Louis C.K., Bob Mills and Phil Jupitus. His stewardship of The Schadenfreude Cabaret, One of Time Out’s Top 10 Free Comedy Clubs, has led to hosting some of the best and most exciting live events on the circuit, such as Hat Trick’s Sabotage nights and cult comedy favourite Group Therapy.

In 2017 he became resident host at 2 Northdown, fronting their Mic Check and Good Friday shows. With some some hugely exciting screen and radio projects in the pipeline, alongside his stand up Garrett is a successful writer and director. His stage comedy Wardens took a ground level view of social relations in Britain through the eyes of a group of beseiged traffic wardens. The play was staged at The Assembly Roxy and featured an all star ensemble featuring Paul Putner, Nish Kumar and Colin Hoult. It garnered much critical praise and was featured in The Guardian Guide’s top shows of the festival. His debut sitcom Do Gooders, a comedy about mid-level charity workers, has been produced by Hat Trick Productions. The pilot, starring Jack Dee and Meera Syal is due for release shortly through Amazon’s Audible. His new show ‘Sunflower’ will be staged at The Tron, this August.
